Tweetshare has been out there in the wild now for a little over a month– a huge shout out to all of you who have made this a wildly successful launch. We’ve had more than 150,000 people visit us since launch, with thousands using Tweetshare to share their content and create discussions.
Best of all, some of the world’s coolest brands – including Zappos, HBO, Ubisoft, Career Builder and many more – are using Tweetshare as an outpost to engage their communities.
Be sure to create a free Tweetshare Fan Page for your business or interest today – its mind-numbingly-simple to setup, and will give you a nice, friendly place to share stuff with your followers.
Today we’re pleased to announce that Tweetshare is even easier to use, with more features to help you share your lives online. Please keep telling us what we can do to make Tweetshare better – this is an iterative process, and your feedback helps us prioritize and streamline.
Here’s what’s new:
- Added Twitter @anywhere hovercards – so you can learn more about the people who are posting by simply rolling over their image.
- Discussions no longer require content attached – of course, we recommend content for engagement, but we’re not making the choice for you – simple text questions are fine now.
- Promote your fan page – we’ve added a “tell your friends” button that allows you to send a customized tweet letting people know about your fan page (your friends can do the same).
- Post directly to a fan page – now instead of the fan page pulling in from your stream, you can post directly on the page itself.
- Improved Analytics – Your “my discussions page” has richer analytics – check it out be logging in.
- Unlimited fan pages – we were capping you at 5, but now you can create as many fan pages as you think the universe can handle.
- Oauth, not Basic Auth – We’ve implemented the most up-to-date Twitter authentication to keep your identity secure!
- HTML5 Video Support – Watch your videos on Tweetshare on your iPad or iPhone.
This is meant to be easy, fun, and simple, so post something new today. Perhaps an embarrassing picture of when you were in a band in high school?
Thanks again for helping us get out of the gates at a full sprint – we hope you’ll continue to share your thoughts and feedback with us so Tweetshare can continue to evolve as a platform and help you get the most out of your Twitter experience.
Rock on,
Patrick Moran, Tweetshare

Hi Tweetie Tweeter Tweetshare Tweeps! Nice to finally blog meet you. I’m Horace J. Bird and, I tweet you, what better way to kick of the ol’bloggy blog than with an homage to…moi? I went around the Fuze Box office (parent company to Tweetshare and Fuze Meeting) and pecked the staff until they drew me a sweet pic. And of COURSE we’re having a contest to support such a momentous day! Scroll down past these hottt (triple hot) drawings for more info on the bird drawing contest.

Draw a Bird Guidelines:
What’s that you tweet, you want to be one of the first people in the history of the world ever to sport some Tweetshare schwag?!?!? I knew it. Not only that, but you can stick some serious cash (well…gift card) in your pocket in the process.
So…all you need to do is draw a picture of a bird…any BIRD, scan it in, load it to Tweetshare and sit back and wait for your free T-shirt and money to roll in. Well…sort of.
Here. Have some more details:
- Draw a bird. This is not a graphic design contest (not yet…but I’m sure we’ll have one soon) so bust out your pen and a little piece of paper and sketch something out. What we’re looking for is cleverness and simplicity. Just check out our staffs’ brilliant examples. FYI Rich won the staff contest. Chances are if you’re using more than 2 colors and it’s bigger than a post-it, you’re probably trying too hard. This is a measure of wit!
- Scan’n Post. Should be self explanatory, but yes…go use your scanner (or take a pic) and upload it to Tweetshare. Be sure to include “@Tweetshare” in your post so we see it!
- Get a T-shirt. We are literally going to snail mail a T-shirt to every bird we think is tweetastic. Could be 4, could be 40. Not knowing is part of the adventure.
- Get some gouda. Tweetshare staff will pick their fave 4, and we’ll have a vote on Tweetshare to determine the winners. First place – $50 Gift Card to iTunes, second place – $20 Gift Card to iTunes, third place a $10… You guessed it, Gift Card to iTunes… And fourth place – 20 cents and a note of condolence from our Community Manager.
Best of luck,
Horace
Tweet,
Why hello there my little artweest. Horace J. Bird here, and it is my DAY! April 8th is National Draw A Picture of a Bird Day and to celebrate this momentous holiday, I’m holding a little competition to see who can draw us the best bird.
Guidelines:

What files do we support?
Millions of types! More specifically: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .ppt, .doc, .avi, .mov., .flv, .mkv, .wmv, .mp4, .pdf. Coming soon: audio files! Also coming soon: a newsletter sign up so you can be notified of product updates!
Is my account secure?
We take privacy very seriously. Since you sign in through Twitter, all your information lives in your Twitter account, so their privacy policy is our privacy policy. Click here to read Twitter’s stance on privacy.
Can I partner with Tweetshare?
Absolutely! If you are a business (or group or team), you can make your own branded Fan Page.
Do you have APIs?
We can barely stand the suspense – waiting for API’s to be released. But we have to. They’re coming soon.
Did you really hire the Kristen Isaacs?
We did. She’s practically famous and feel lucky to have her. Her impeccable fashion sense and flowery aroma make her a pleasure to walk by on the way to the facilities.
Will Tweetshare always be free?
Of course there will always be a free option! We may add premium Fan Pages later, but we’re not going to give you something for free and then try to charge you for it later. That’s not cool. (We’re cool.)
How do I delete a file?
You’ll need to delete the entire discussion.
How do I delete a discussion?
Great question!
But, just a rule of wing (Mr. T. Sharebird doesn’t have thumbs), think before you Tweet. The interwebs have a long memory…even when things are deleted.
Can I get this on my mobile phone?
Did you mean your iPhone? Yep! Just go to the app store and download! Did you mean your other phone? Not yet. Stay tuned.
Do I have to Upload a file to start a discussion?
Negatory. You can also embed a file from SlideRocket, SlideShare, DeviantART, Screenr, or YouTube. But…you do need to embed or upload if you want to post a discussion.
How do I embed a file?
Go to the site with the content and find the embed link. It’s different on almost every site but it usually starts with <object width…. Copy the embed link and post it in to Tweetshare.
When I comment, does it have to roll out to my Twitter feed?
Yes. Since we’re using Twitter’s ????? all the info goes through them. But, don’t be sad! That’s what’s so fun about the site. Having opinions and Tweeting about them!
Will my posts show up on my Twitter feed?
You betcha!
Every letter is precious! Why is my character count so low? <object width=
We KNOW. And we care. If you see that you have less than 140 characters to comment, then the missing remaining characters are used to generate a shortened link back to the discussion. This is what allows us to track the discussion in Tweetshare.
What if I don’t have a Twitter account?
I don’t understand. Why would you not….ooooooh. Go sign up for one!
Can I keep my discussions private so only my followers can see them?
Not at the moment, but it’s coming.
What’s next for Tweetshare?
So much good stuff! But for now, it’s a seeeeecret. Shhhh.
